Jay J -
Fantasy (LAR-086)
Wow!
Jay-J and his lovely chanteuse Latrice Barnett pull out a scorcher
for large . Deep, rich and sensual are words
used to describe this powerhouse vocal. Jay-J’s classic drums
are accented here with the grittiest electrotek bassline we’ve heard
since Fingers, Inc. The Moulton Dub is downright
dirty with enough bite to appease both the old and new school jacks.
The 12 inch finishes with the Fantasy Guitar Dub ,
perfect for the early morning cool down.

Rich soulful production
from Moulton Studio’s main man Jay-J Hernandez. Old school production
influences hence the electronic bass synth sound used, very reminiscent
of a Fingers Inc style groove. Combined with silky smooth vocals
from Latrice Barnett. Mr Hernandez up to scratch as usual. One for
the Soulful House Heads. Class!! 8/10

Jay-J once again teams up with Latrice Barnett for this deep vocal
house track boosted by electrotek bassline. For my money, the Fantasy
Dub is the best with its chunky funkiness. The more chilled Guitar
Dub has a more ethereal vibe. 3/5

Does this man ever sleep? Jay-J comes up with yet another stunning
production with this sexy combination of an irresistible electronic
bassline, guitar and commanding analogue chords. The sultry vocals
then only add to the overall effect as this latest offering sits
neatly in amongst your other favoured summertime grooves. 4/5

Knowing the man, it’s quite embarrassing how much a fan I am of
Jay-J’s productions. But credit where credit’s due, so I’ve gotta
tell you this is yet another scorcher from the Moulton Studios camp.
Doesn’t do anything a dozen other Moulton productions haven’t, but
if it ain’t broke, etc… 4/5

The big fella strikes again, this time teaming up with Latrice Barnett
(again) for some summery vocal fun. The original, full vocal version
is rather lovely, all told, but I’m preferring the deeper Fantasy
Dub, which pushes the analogue bassline to the fore alongside some
swishy pads. There’s also a more laidback Guitar Dub for those Balearic
moments. 3/5
