Kerri Chandler - Digitalsoul Session Three (LAR-063)
Orion Ray-Jones | Mixer Magazine | May 2001
You can't go wrong with this six pack double pack from New Jersey's
Kerri Chandler. And, unlike most double packs, every single track
is unbelievable good. From the Brazil infused percussive track,
"Who Is It You Love," to the moody vocal "It All Comes Back To You,"
Chandler covers a wide range of contemporary deep house. The deep,
techy "Time is Destiny" stands next to the jazzy "Midnight City
Blues." We've come to expect stong music from Chandler, but it's
a nice suprise to find releases that expertly cover a wide spectrum
of sound. All six cuts are sublime; You will not be dissapointed.

Kerri Chandler has never received the hype from the UK dance music
press that he deserves as many of his American contemporaries on
the dance scene have. Frustrating as that may be for him, he continues
to make near perfect records and on this six track double-pack he
proves that he outshines most of his countrymen when it comes to
production-quality and diversity. Chandler displays his eclectic
talents here on tracks like the Mr Fingers' inspired "Time Is Destiny"
and the riveting samba-fusion of "Digital Brazil". If it's straight-up
deep house you're after then "All Comes Back To You" and the George
Benson-inspired "Who Is It You Love?" should more than suffice.
"Midnight City Blues" is a sexy Philly-style groove with a jazzy
sax solo that will work the old soul boys into a frenzy and "Are
You Coming With Me" (a sample-heavy remake of the Pat Metheny classic)
will serve the electronica brigade well. All hail King Chandler!
And may his exceptional talents be yet recognised.

Oh mi gosh. The third in this series and it's a double pack. Again,
Kerri pushes the deep house envelope with this sublime collection
of deep and spiritual freeform grooves. Space means I can't describe
it all but check "Are You Going With Me?"'s grave and forlorn blues,
the old school aquatics of "Time Is Destiny", the karmic message
of "All Comes Back To You" (a direct continuation from Digitalsoul
Session One) and "Digital Brazil"'s shuffly, breathy soul. All in,
a stunning lesson from the master. 10/10

Those guy's at Large are at it again. Not content with the release
of Solar House, they beef up the label with another outing for the
maestro, Kerri Chandler. "Digitalsoul Session Three" is six tracks
of quality house music that can fit into any set at any time of
the night or day. Ranging from extremely moody sound of "Are You
Going With Me?" through to the warm Brazilian sound of "Digital
Brazil" through to old skool Fingers Inc.-sounding "Time Is Destiny".
All in all, every track on there is a piece of class and is a worthy
contribution to the House Movement. Keep It Real!

The winning combination of Kerri Chandler and Jeff (Large) Craven
comes correct again with this super cool set. Six tracks that cover
all the bases but still scream "Kerri", this is another one for
the real house massive. From jazzy grooves to deep beats, this is
all about the real Garaaaarrrrrrrge vibe. Ya dig?
