Mark Grant- Get Large Vol. 2

The second installment in the new series called Get Large features House Music legend Mark Grant with a fresh new DJ Dance Mix. Mark helped define the new Chicago House Sound during the mid 1990’s with his acclaimed releases on Cajual Records and achieved worldwide success with his Sound Design CD on Om Recordings during 2001. Get Large Vol. 2 is Mark’s first mix CD since then, and the blend of tight, funky rhythms and jazzed out keys prove Mark Grant is still one of the most unique and talented DJ’s on the dance scene today.

Mark pulled from the latest Large Music single releases as well as licensed tracks from other top imprints like Defected, Free Range , and GoGo to create this eclectic mix. The stand out track “Criacao” by Square One creates a smooth late night vibe with shuffling beats while “Like Jazz’ by Halo & Jay-J provides a more up-tempo Chicago House flavor. Mark’s own musical production skills shine as well with the vocal piece “Shame” featuring vocals from Swalo. Mark’s mixing technique is flawless during the entire mix solidifying Get Large Vol. 2 as a stand-out release that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Roy Davis Jr.- Get Large Vol. 1

Large Music kicks off a fresh new series entitled Get Large, mixed by dance music superstar Roy Davis, Jr. Six years have passed since Roy has released a full length mixed CD; this latest offering from Large proves to be worth the wait. This masterful mix showcases Roy Davis and his trademark style and solidifies his reputation as one of the world’s elite DJs. Roy’s uncanny ability to program and blend records is legendary and he lets it all go on this one- combining a unique soulful sound with driving, Chicago-style beats.

Get Large features classic Large Music tracks along with several cuts licensed from other top dance labels such as King Street, Ubiquity, and Philly Soul. Kicking off with a funk anthem entitled “My Soul is Electric”, Roy builds the house energy through the first 30 minutes of the mix. He then steers into a slightly more Afro-Rhythmic direction with the Quentin Harris remix of “Spiritual Life” by Steal Vybe. Roy finishes strong, throwing in some acid house bits with Kerri Chandler’s” Return 2 Acid” and “Set Me Free” by newcomer Chuck Love, before settling the groove with “Sunshine & Twilight”. Brimming with energy and soul, Get Large is a future classic and “must have” for any passionate dance music enthusiast.

Large Music - Rhythm Lounge 4 (LARCD-010)

Large Music provides a soundtrack to the soul with the fourth version in the Rhythm Lounge series. This album once again showcases the trademark Large Music sound; jazzy keys and vocals combined with New World rhythms that form a sophisticated, sexy mix. Although a perfect CD for late night lounging, Rhythm Lounge 4 also has enough energy to fill a dancefloor with tracks from Eddie Matos, Kerri Chandler, Roy Davis Jr., and newcomer Demarkus Lewis.
